Erich Glas (1897 - 1973) was a German and Israeli artist.〔 His origin is German Jewish. Born in 1897, he served as a commando soldier and later as a pilot in the Imperial German Army during the First World War. After the war he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, Munich (1919 - 1920) and later at Bauhaus University, Weimar. He joined "The Young Rheinland", artistic group which was founded by Ulrich Leman. In 1934 he left Germany because of the Nazi regime and started living in Kibbutz Yagur in Israel.
